The Gwich’in Tribal Council (GTC) is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Digital Archivist located in Inuvik, NT.
Reporting to the Language Revitalization Specialist, the Digital Archivist will be responsible for organizing and digitizing material as part of GTC’s new Records Management System.
The Digital Archivist will be responsible for organizing project materials to be digitized including photos and documents; operate multiple scanning hardware and software to fulfill specific digitization requirements; follow specific procedures for digitization, editing, and organization of project materials; input metadata into searchable catalogue; and perform various job-related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have experience in archiving; strong desktop computer skills: Windows, Excel, File Management; extremely organized, must possess an acute attention to detail; punctual and dependable; experience with endangered language documentation; some knowledge of the Gwich’in language and a demonstrated commitment to language revitalization; knowledge of Gwich’in culture and speech community; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Wage will commensurate with your experience.
