Career Development Officer

The Gwich’in Tribal Council (GTC) is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Career Development Officer.

Located in Inuvik and reporting to the Manager of Education and Training, this position works to promote, deliver, and coordinate career development programs and services. This includes providing hands-on services to clients, such as resume writing, job search assistance, career coaching, and career planning. The position also assists with the coordination of GTC’s training and education programs, including the federally-funded Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ASETS) program and the Gwich’in Education Foundation.  

The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Career Development, Education, or a Social Science, and two years of related experience working with clients. Experience coordinating training or education programs would be considered an asset. A Criminal Record Check is required.

Salary is $70,000 plus a generous benefits package which includes allowances of $20,000 per annum as well as health, dental, short and long term disability, life insurance, and generous leave entitlements.
