Career Development Officer - 3 Year Term Position

The Gwich’in Tribal Council (GTC) is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Career Development Officer in Inuvik, NT.

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Career Development Officer assists the Education and Training team with the delivery of career and labour-market focused programs, including the Skills and Partnership Fund program (SPF), a multi-year program in partnership with the Government of Canada. This position is responsible for providing hands-on career development services to clients, including client intake and assessments, resume writing, job search assistance, career planning, and career coaching. The role also assists with overall program administration responsibilities.

The ideal applicant would have a Diploma in Career Development, Education, or a Social Science, as well as two years of related experience working with clients, ideally in a career development and/or service setting. A Class 5 Driver’s license is required.

Experience coordinating training or education programs would be considered an asset. Equivalencies may be considered. The successful applicant must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal records check.

Salary is $70,000 plus a generous benefits package which includes allowances of $20,000 per annum as well as health, dental, short and long term disability, life insurance, and generous leave entitlements.
